    Hi,

Looking for recommendations on a cheek pad for my 700 PSS. Appreciate any guidance.

This rifle is amazing. Holes in holes!

I've had to send the stock to İH-S PRECISION, INC. for swivel studs and 1" inch butt pad (for fit).

Adding a check pad (vs a new tactical stock at $650) to complete the fit.

    Thanks, Ron

I made one. I drew up a paper pattern, transferred to a wooden router template, routed the plastic and heat gunned it to drape over the stock. Slots are Dremel cut. Hardware from Tractor Supply. Cost about $10.

I hate to admit it, but it was a piece of scrap I saved from an old brine shrimp incubator stand. Doesn't sound tacticool enough does it? :D

reacher, the cheek piece you made is a VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT PIECE OF ART!! it looks great. i love to tinker myself and could use a couple of them but dont have a shrimp briner to cut up haha. you dont need any take off wood stocks or hogue 700 stocks to trade for a couple do you? got stocks out the ying yang but no adj. cheeckpiece.

Swampthang: I'm honored, but to be honest I would be afraid to try and make something for your stock and it not fit. This was measured out to fit my Bell and Carlson and there are lots of customizable angles, curves, thicknesses, etc, etc.

It really is easy to do. Any heatable plastic, some layout work, a few careful cuts and zip it out with a router. Paint it, buy carriage bolts and knobs; you're done.

The hardest part was figuring how to drill through the stock and not screw up. I ended up drilling at each slot and then just connecting the holes across from each other with a hand drill. Worked like a charm.

several builds ago i started using the mcmillan a-5 stocks because they are adjustable just like what you built. i also have a manor benchrest stock . but i to have the new b/c with the butthook same color as yours.( looks identical) on a tactical match rifle. so if your interested in building another just like the pic i'm interested. i'm just a dumb broke country boy that loves to shoot great accurate rifles. just been fortunate to do pretty well over the years and lucky enough to have great sponsers. besides nothing beats a little home grown inginuity. I LIKE IT. just let me know.
