    New boots

    Well, new stock anyway.

Finally got round to upgrading my stock, decided to buy British so went with the AI AT chassis in Tan.

I want to get the barrel screwcut next for a moderator.

Nice stock, especially if you are sent to a desert area.

Although I have spend a considerable amount of time in the U.K. and know a lot of the local words, what is a moderator?

    I'm betting on Suppressor.

Yep, this. Over here they tend to be called moderators, rather than suppressor or silencer.

Kind of thought that, but best to ask. Not legal in New York State.

I've often thought how strange it is that with our very oppressive gun laws (compared to the US) just how easy it is for us to get moderators/suppressors.

Of course, we have to have a gun licence first (which is no easy task) but once obtained it is a simple matter to apply for permission to buy a mod. We have to provide good reason, but health & safety (protection of hearing) is good enough reason!

We take our second amendment very seriously but sometimes I think we do ourselves in. Here you can buy a firearm without knowing the breech from the muzzle or any of the basic rules for safe handling of a firearm. I see people showing up at a range expecting someone, or should I say anyone, to teach them how to use it. Here we teach teach children how to use condoms (rubber johnny?) in school but teaching firearm safety is taboo.

Anyway, that is a nice rig you have. The camo looks like it might work well in Scotland!

By the way, what do the English think of Winston Churchill today? I'm curious as I think he may have been the greatest leader of the 20th Century.
