That' not a bad price for an action alone. Guy could take off the factory stock and trigger, replace with chassis or upgraded stock, a nice aftermarket trigger, and come out $500 or more ahead of some "builds".

Finally made it to the range with the new stock and Timney 512 trigger. Not my best day, bad head cold but good enough. The pic is at 100 yds with Hornady 165 grn American Whitetail ammo. I pulled a couple to the right just a bit but still, under MOA. Not too shabby, rifle was shooting much better than I was that day. Couldnt be happier with the build.R 700 @ 100.jpg

Hi all - A newbie here from New Zealand, and this is my very first post. I have just purchased a Rem 700 ADL Tactical .308 here in NZ! It came as a package deal complete with a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 BDC Scope. The package was NZ$1,250. Those may sound like big numbers to you US folks, but here that was a darn good deal! It is with my tame gunsmith at the moment having the trigger worked, the barrel free floated & the action bedded. As yet I haven't fired it, but I am certainly looking forward to doing so! Cheers

    Hi Bob

I am in the South Island in the town of Timaru, which is on the East Coast 100 miles South of Christchurch. Hope you enjoyed your time over here!

I look forward to learning much from this forum and looking forward to putting some lead down range. I have been hankering to try my hand at this "up to 1000 metres" shooting, and this ADL Tactical set up seemed to be a good starting point to build upon. I will cut my learner's teeth on the .308 and once I wear that barrel out (!!) I can look at a re-barrel in maybe 6.5 Creedmoor, or whichever new cartridge comes along! After the trigger job, action bedding, and barrel free float, my immediate plans are a Harris Bi-pod and an effective muzzle brake of some sort (does anyone have any recommendations on what types or styles are most effective?) After that, I save my pennies for a top grade Scope & rings

    Many thanks!

Percision reloads that match you gun in .308 will get you out to 1,000 yards with the right scope and bases. Have fun. I use Palma Brass in my .308s and my F Class rifle will hold 6" groups at 1,000 yards. Maybe even smaller, though I am not yet capable.

I may be back down your way in January and I will look you up.

got my ADL Tactical back in December and have not fired it at all. Waited to accumulate all parts for upgrades and will assemble all soon. Also i don't think mines has the XMP trigger. I'll take pictures for you all to verify though.
