    Was an ADL .30-06

I bought as an ADL knowing I would change it. Here it is now with some changes and may do more in the future.
The stock is a Grayboe Outlander and the trigger is a Timney 510. Remington bottom metal was added and I may get an extended mag box. Caliber is still .30-06.

Not too bad. It is way more accurate than I am. I hadn't shot for a while and I kept pulling shots. I could get two touching with factory ammo and some reloads. I need to get back to shooting more.

What issues did you find with it in the factory state?
I have an older ADL in 270 Win and am looking at purchasing a new ADL in 30-06. Too bad they don't come in wood stock anymore for a decent price.

    Roegun,
when I bought it the bases were loose. it shot fine from the factory. I wanted to change the trigger because I had never had an aftermarket trigger. I will change triggers to a Timney every time now. I also wanted a hinged floor plate. I am one who is always tinkering with things. I can not leave anything alone. This is my only big game rifle. I figured I could have bought another by the time I was done with this or i could have one sweet shooter set up to my liking. I went with one rifle for now.

    Thanks Scorpion8!

Now a days there is better inherent accuracy in the .308 then the .30-06, especially if you are going to load. Lots of factory ammo options also.

Ditto the above and the 308 has a little less recoil. Whether you get an ADL, or BDL (SPS), you are getting the same receiver and barrel so the core of the weapon is the same, therefor the accuracy potential is the same. I will say that I originally bought a ADL (Dick's Special) and thought the scope mounting screws were misaligned and the bases seemed off elevation wise. I ultimately put a one piece rail on. I later put that rail on the 308 BDL and found it was machined the same way. I ultimately ended up with 20 MOA EGW rails on both and wouldn't have anything else.
