Don't use this one but one that's not too much different. It will work great but anyone alongside you will hate you.
When it comes to muzzle brakes, they all work pretty much the same. Gases from the barrel impinge on the baffles and are then directed out to the side and upward. This "pushes" the rifle forward somewhat to mitigate the felt recoil. The gas discharged makes it uncomfortable to neighboring shooters. Some "brakes" are really more of a "compensator" and have all kinds of cute port arrangements that mostly direct gases upward. Helps hold the muzzle down for a subsequent shot but don't really attenuate the recoil as much.
The brake you mention is among the best on the market and as a bonus, it looks "nasty" which is a plus on any AR platform rifle
