    ADL upgrades for hunting

For a new Remington 700 ADL in 30-06, what would you do first to increase accuracy? Would you upgrade the trigger or upgrade the stock?

If stock upgrade, do you have any suggested stocks?

If trigger upgrade, what would you recommend?

    Thanks!

I guess it depends on how it shoots now. I would start with a good trigger, timney calvin elite or jewel if you want to spend more.

The rifle is very accurate to begin with, so shoot it a bunch first. Some folks disparage the OEM trigger, but I find them to be just fine for hunting.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll continue to shoot some more to get more familiar with it and then decide if I need to upgrade.

I would suggest a good bipod such as a harris notched leg, when not bench/prone shooting a bipod makes an excelent vertical grip.

If I really want the most the rifle has to offer in accuracy...I like them to be 'Blueprinted, pillar bedded, nice aftermarket trigger (shooters choice) target crown and a good, solid, well reputed scope added. I personally don't like attached bipods, but I do use cross sticks from the sit a lot. I never minded spending money on a rifle, after all, "only accurate rifles are interesting".

I replaced the trigger with a timney 510. I don't regret it at all.

+ on the Timney 510. Very nice, easy to install and made a huge difference.

The first thing I do with a new 700 is change the trigger.
The Second is that I bed the action
    Third Float the Barrel
Fourth - Shoot the heck out of it and see where you are. If you are handloading, work up loads.
All the other changes are less important and more about comfort and styling. Set up right the factory stocks usually are fine.
