    More rifles than scopes.............

I have more rifles (mostly Rem 700's) than I do scopes. My budget is "restricted" and I value the rifles just a bit more than scopes so I buy the rifle and then as dollars get more plentiful, I get the best scope that I think works with the rifle. I do almost exclusively bench rest target shooting and a bit of long range F-Class.

I have been switching scopes between rifles (re-zeroing etc.) with no problems other than the pain involved in moving and re-zeroing after the move.

The scopes I have, (Leupold, Nightforce, & Nikon) were not inexpensive and I am not a person that will buy the cheap stuff so, I move them.

Given my case of "myfundsalow", and my spare inventory of rifles, what is the general consensus regarding moving scopes between rifles?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I do the same thing, I get the bug to shoot one of my rifles and I swap scopes.
I do have 3 that I leave alone,as they are right where I want them, and I shoot them quite often anyway.

I don't mind moving scopes to test a new rifle before I get a scope for it. I also only shoot benchrest, 100 to 1,000 yards and on many of my rifles use Burris Signature Z rings with the plastic inserts that keep the scope tube from getting all scratched up and also allow making combinations of the ring inserts to get more toward the middle of the cope range at what ever yardage I am going to shoot. Nice to be able to get from 0 to about 20 MOA just in changing the inserts around.
