    PT&G Bottom Metal Magazine Conversion

I have a Remington 700 Long Range chambered in 30-06. I would like to convert the Bell & Carlson stock that comes factory, from BDL to the PT&G magazine conversion. Has anyone used this conversion kit? Is it relatively drop-in, or am I going to need to break out some machining skills? Here is a link to the kit I am considering:

You might need to use a dremel tool

The more I researched it, the more I realized I do not need to go this route. There would be just too much magazine sticking out from under the rifle (10-rounder). Best bet is to go with a chassis like the XLR Element for double stack mags, or mill the rifle stock to have the M5 bottom metal installed (also double stack capable).

I ordered a conversion from Brownells that another shooter on this forum told me he uses and the 700 loads more smoothly than it did with the internal magazine.

SKU 100-038-446 comes in 10 or 5 round mag for $68.99.
