    Barrel model identification help

    Hello,

I will be parting with a 20" .308 barrel that came on the action with an aftermarket-stock I purchased, and I'm not sure if it's a varmint, 'tactical' profile, or possibly an SPS?

I shot a pic and put a mic' on it with measurements marked.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

PS: My scale 'bounces' a bit. Got 3.4#s. Changed batteries, got 3.6

That barrel is a tactical profile that comes on the SPS tactical and several others. It is the same profile as the 26" varmint barrels just cut shorter. It is a 1 on 12 twist UNLESS it is marked differently.

lol....ex-mil vet dad. I had to be shooting from 5 or 6? Reloading what I shot, by hand, after homework. Poured through the Herter's catalog like it was the keys to the Golden Kingdom. If it was about shooting, I'd read it.

Going to be listing that barrel (undecided, but if I build again, probably 300 wm). If the book was more the same dimensions I'd throw it in the deal!

    Cheers
