    Just purchased my first 700

I just purchased my first 700, my grandfather swore by Remington and inherited his older 1100 hundred shotgun. I’ve fallen in love with what I would call the classic Remington guns and purchased an older 700 chambered in .270. I bought the gun based on its apparent condition and don’t know much about the functionality or the specific model that it might be. I’ve used the Remington serial number decoder and it can give me an option of 4 different years that the gun may have been built in but no specifics. Can anyone tell me what to do or what to look for? I care for my firearms very well, but I think this rifle is beautiful and While I’d love to hint with it, id hate to risk devaluation if I scratch up the wood while hunting

Welcome to the forum. Try to post a picture of the rifle or e-mail it to me at : [email protected]

The 700 in .270 is a nice rifle, I am sure you will like it.
