DRAGON64 liked post by Deadshot2 On thread : Lopoking for 700 Long Range 30-06 84166
30-06 is viewed more and more as irrelevant now for some reason. A .308 does almost as well for most needs and for longer ranges calibers like 300 Win Mag do far better. I just happen to be a...

To me, 'Chassis Systems" are a lot like the little street racer custom cars. They're nice and low, sleek, loud, and sometimes fast. But are they comfortable? Do they handle any better than a...

Scorpion8 liked post by Deadshot2 On thread : Barrel disassembly then re-assembly
Threading with action still on barrel is fairly easy with the right lathe. If the headstock has a large enough hole in it so the barrel can protrude far enough to cut threads on the muzzle no sweat....

Yes. The action is the same. Only difference is stock and bottom metal with/without bottom plate.

Jmm14534 liked post by Deadshot2 On thread : "Building" an R700P
After "building" off several factory rifles from Remington, my next one will start with merely a trued action from PT&G. A trued Remington 700 action from them has the action face trued and...

I go a little further than just bonding or bedding. I clamp the rings to the base (Pic. rails only for me) leaving the mounting screw holes exposed and then clamp the rings to my lapping bar. ...

The tapered or parallel design will depend on what stock/chassis you might be using. The tapered "Holland" style is nice for removing the action from a bedded stock. Parallel is often required...

We have some shooters at my club range that think that is a good target for 100 yards. When they try 300 yards the safest place on the range is the center of the target. We have to replace...

f you are planning a build and want it to be a "repeater", take a look at the trued Remington actions sold by Pacific Tool and Gauge (PT&G). They sell a Remington action that has been trued,...
