A week from tomorrow is the opening day of the Wisconsin Firearms Deer Season. I've had my trail cam out for a few weeks and got some mug shots of a few nice deer. Got my stand rebuilt and set up in a new location and got a few rifles sighted in.

This is my 700 Classic in 6.5X55. It never fails to drop them where they stand.

Now that is one nice rifle. I am a huge fan of the "Classic". I own 2, 30-06 Classics. To me it is one of the best looking rifles ever. Is the 6.5X55 a good round? I don't know anything about that round. Best of luck during this years season

I had a "Classic" in .338 Win. Mag I bought in 1986 or 1987. I used it when I lived in Alaska, but traded it when I moved back to the "states". Have had a model 700 in .270 Win. since then that has killed whitetail, mulies, antelope, elk, and even a bison. Will include a picture of it at some point. Long live the Remington 700!
