I don't know if the admin can make this a sticky, but I think we should all post all the info we can about our super accurate reloading data. This will make it simple for people to know where to look for reloading data. And maybe one for .223 another really common cartridge.

Here is my last load that worked @ .5 or better MOA @ 100 yards.

20 inch barrel 1-12 twist
Bullet:175 SMK
Powder: Varget 44.5 gr
Primer: CCI BR-2
Case: Winchester
COAL: 2.800

Average FPS: 2600

Here is the recipe I use on a regular basis with my 20" 1/12 twist SPS Tactical and has produced .250" @ 100yds and a little better then 3/4" at 200yds.

168 Sierra MatchKing
43g Alliant Reoader 15
CCI #200 LR primer
Winchester case
2.800" COAL

Still yet to determine velocity, but would guess somewhere between 2500fps to 2550fps.

168 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip
46 grains of Varget
CCI Magnum large rifle primers (using regular large rifle primers lost 30fps in velocity)
Winchester Brass that has been fire formed and only neck sized (this is important)
2.835 OAL

In my M700 SPS this load produced the smallest groups. Average around .5" at 100 yards @ 2761fps out of the 24" barrel

*caution this load is very hot. Start out at around 43 grains of powder and work up. If you see signs of pressure back off a half grain.

Yes neck sizing(instead of FL sizing)( I just got me a neck sizing die :D) is a pretty important issue you want to take care of. Also your the first I heard of use the magnum primers. You dont have any issues I take it ?

thanks for the post addition.

Hey Bad Karma,

We haven't talked accurate .308 loads in a while. This one is super accurate:

Case: Winchester .308, match prepped, trimmed to 2.005"
Primer: Winchester WLR
Bullet: Sierra 168 grain Match King
Powder: 41.5 grains of IMR-8208-XBR
COL: 2.825"
Muzzle: chronoed at 2604 ft/sec average

Shot a 5 shot group at 100 yards using my Harris bipod and rear leather bag, measured .212" x .232".
Just one ragged hole, and this group included the cold bore shot.
I think I will keep shooting this one.

Sincerely,
Dave (Bubba) Thornblom

The web site at Remington says 1-12 for 2 different models but that might be a typo, and one is a 1-10 and the other is a 1-12.

so far so good on this recipe thread :D

Anyone shoot the 155 SMK's ? any good info for them ? just wondering what fps people are running.

here is what QL tells me for 2.800 COAL and 2.015 case trim length ..............

Code:
 Cartridge : .308 Win.
Bullet : .308, 155, Sierra HPBT MK 2155
Useable Case Capaci: 50.351 grain H2O = 3.269 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.800 inch = 71.12 mm
Barrel Length : 20.0 inch = 508.0 mm
Powder : IMR 4064
