I am new to this site and happy to be here. I am not really a rifle guy but I have the opportunity to purchase a 700 270 rifle. I took the 700 to the range and had some trouble with the ammo loading. This model 700 can only be loaded from the top. No floor plate. I had loaded three rounds and pushed them to the rear. Not only did they pop back out but the floor plate tilted back and forth. I finally got the three rounds to stay in. I pushed the bolt forward and halfway, the bolt would jump on top of the round and just scrap the top until the bolt would jam and stop.

The rifle has little use and appears to be in good working order otherwise.

I need some help. I have no idea the cost to fix. Should I buy?

Without looking at the rifle, it's hard to say what might be wrong. Could be that the mag spring is in back wards. Doesn't sound like a serious problem and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if the price was right.
