Hey guys been awhile since I been on here, I have got back into shooting heavy again, and Reloading aswell... I decided I wanted to get a 700P on account of the 26 in barrel to have some case life and more velocity compared to my LTR, which is still a great rifle, I have got consistant hits at 700 yards with it shooting an 8 inch plate. Anyways I just got this Monday and am very excited, I decided to Camo it and am pleased with the results. I used drywall tape for the fishnet look, its sticky on both sides, and real tree leaves around the house. I still and waiting on my base to come in aswell as my rings, and B.O. bolt knob, Had to buy a new 5/16x24 die, mine was shot, picked up a new and got the bolt threaded for the knob. I also am using the Bushnell Scope off my LTR and Bipod which I have camo'd aswell, I will Post some more pics as soon as I get some progress, hopefully I will go shooting next week and see what she will do.. I am also gonna try to chronograph some loads if everything goes well, and post some pics at 100 yards, the long range load I got in mind is Lapua Cases, Varget 43.5 and 43.7, 178 gr AMAX, gonna see how those loads work, accuracy and velocity wise. Heres a couple of pics... Let me know what ya think. :D

Nice job on the camo! I rattle-canned my 700P a while ago, mostly pleased with the results considering it was my first attempt but think it needs more contrast.

Did you start with a base color on the complete stick or just hit it here and there to create the pattern?

Gotta love the 700P!

I started out with the green solid and then patterned the next 2 colors but i streaked the next 2 kinda in a zig-zag like pattern. Winxp Man can't wait to see some pics. gdvan01- You got a pic you can post or have a link where you got some pics posted? I'd like to see it.

Yes Sir...I replied to the Painting Stock post you made here:

Actually, in the pics it looks more 'white' than it actually is...crappy camera/flash...but I still want to re-do it to get somewhere in between where it is and how yours ended up.

It Looks great :D If I had a small air brush I would streak the green looking leafs on my gun with khaki, I think It would get a little green out of her, but I think my picture looks a little darker than in person.

Having an air brush would definitely be a plus but...basically I'm lazy. :p

I've started to wonder if using one of those tube/straw thingies that usually come with brake cleaner/WD-40 would work on a rattle-can to get a more focused delivery of the paint. That is, if it would 1)...fit on the spray nozzle of the paint can and 2)...not blow across my garage with the first spurt of paint. I guess I'll have to be the guinea pig and give it a whirl on paper first.

I'm diggin' the idea of the drywall tape though.

I'm curious about the straw thing aswell. The drywall tape is the stuff though.

I still have not done mine yet, but now Im leaning to the desert MARPAT Camo. I found some stencils online, so I might do it myself. Seems pretty straight forward.
