They are but not easily. You need a good gunsmith or a machinest to do it right. You might look into an aftermarket bolt with a better extractor as well as the bolt handle you want.

You can also get a bolt handle and have a gunsmith replace the existing handle. Its either silver soldered or brazed to the bolt. If you get a new bolt it will need to be checked for headspace. Probably the best source is PTG. They sell a Remington replacement bolt. I’ve heard that they are the most likely to headspace correctly but I don’t have personal experience.

Hey guys, not to bring up a SUPER old thread but I came across your triangular bolt complaint! I've been trying to change from a round knob to the stock VTR triangle knob for years with no luck of finding one! Would you be willing to sell me your triangular knob?! Thanks
