So today I was able to use the misfired rounds (lite primer strike) from my 700 5R .223 on another rifle. (To see if they would fire in another gun) Some background on the misfired round: they were all from federal 100 round value pack that I purchased from Walmart. I would get one or two misfired per 100 round pack about, and only on my rem 700.
I had five round that did not work. I loaded them into my x95 and 3 out of five fired just fine.
Box does say that the ammo is designed for semiautos.

Sooo there is that.

Any thoughts?

hey smullen, I'm new to this forum and am going crazy with the exact same thing. I've tried multiple ammo manufactures and the problem still consists. get off about 15 -20 rounds and from there i get maybe 50% fire rate. remington said to clean my firing and bolt. which i did properly, i even went as far as striping the firing pin assembly down and polished it. same shit was happening. if any one has any info i would appreciate it .
thank you

Have you looked at the primer seating depth? I have seen factory ammo where the primers are seated too far in.
