Which caliber - .223, .308 or .300 mag?
Which length?

I would guess 3-4000 for .308 and 5-6000 for .223? Just a guess though.
I just bought a 700P 26" in .308 and doubt I will shoot out the barrel in my lifetime.

4853

I stand by that number until more data is provided.
Yes, 4853 sounds right.

That will do if one just wants a number. I had a .308 that stayed nice and accurate well over 10K. Swore I would replace it when it couldn't stay under .5 MOA. Never really found out how far it would really go because I did something stupid one day and ruined the barrel.

FWIW, round count was based on the number of CASES of bullets I bought in bulk.

My 700P, has the 26" barrel chambered in .308 also. I have heard that the stainless 5r barrels like whats on the M24 can go well beyond 5000 and still hold their accuracy.

The Office I work for has an old 700P in .308 that is around 20 years old and has been issued to 5 different snipers on our Tact Team. A couple of the guys kept their log books when they left the team so we don’t have an exact round count. Our best estimate on a round count for this rifle is between 12 and 15 thousand rounds. The rifle’s groups have started to open up some It will still hold an MOA group with GGM or Gold Dot ammo.
