Hello all, Still floundering on a 700 purchase, Does any know what the muzzle diameter is on a 700 SPS Tactical is?? Question 2, Generally speaking, what twist rate would be better for a 150 grain .308 hunting bullet? 1:10 or 1:12?

First question: .830" diameter at muzzle

Second question: SPS Tactical has a 1 in 12" twist rate, it will be great for your 150 grain bullet. I use mine with up to 178 grain bullets with good accuracy.

Sincerely,
Dave (Bubba) Thornblom

Sounds good to me, I'm leaning pretty heavy on getting a SPS Varmint in 308. Thats alot of rifle, I may lop the barrel to 22 in. to make it a bit handier. A scope may balace things out a bit tho.
