Got some range time in today and would like to post up some results on what the chrono had to say

Shooting my .308 remington 700 sps tactical 1:10 twist 20" barrel.
175gr Sierra Matchking's
CCI BR2 primers
Remington Brass trimmed to 2.005
Hodgson Varget 44.5gr
Coal 2.800

first 10 rounds down the tube were
2543
2570
2555
2546
2541
2551
2548
2540
2551
2553

The 10 round average was 2549 with the extreme span of 30fps

I ended up putting 60 rounds through the gun today and had a blast. Contemplating tweaking up .01-.02gr. Anyone else have chronod results of a similar load? FPS on par i'd think for a 20 incher.

The RL-15 Powder did not show one bit of pressure issue at all. I was amazed at the numbers from a 20" barrel.

I never got to chrono my last 175 match ammo that I bought. I really don't justify 2 dollars around to do the test fps..... I might though just to see.

My chrono results from 3 years ago (last time I teated rifle) yielded:-

Rifle in all tests is a PGWDTI Coyote with a Krieger 1:10 barrel.

M118LR

Average was 2635fps.

Winchester match 168gr was 2629fps.

175gr SMK
43.0gr/Varget

Average = 2620fps

175 SMK
46.0gr/Varget

Average = 2754fps

175gr SMK
44.3gr/RL15

Average 2755fps

This load was the M118LR as published by Alliant after they received the Military contract but was subsequently lowered due to problems in Iraq 1. It showed them that RL15 is temperature sensitive.

These loads were shot in August '08 but in April '08 I chrono'd

175 SMK
44.3gr/RL15

Average = 2699fps
