Let me start with no need to post if all you are going to do is bash the system. What I am looking for is technical information for trouble shooting. Or even if some one who repaired these rifles could answer a few questions.
1 of the questions I have is the detection of the round just looking at continuity or a specific resistance range. Did remington just do component replacement and not worry with board level repair. What company made the electronics for remington. Etc. the picture is a closeup of the electric switch.

No one seems to have bought the rights to the etronx that may be due to the end of patent

I expect there is little hope for repair or getting parts for the Remington 700 Etronx. The project was doomed from the beginning, not only by Remington's management totally mishandling the introduction, but by criticism of gun writers and other supposed experts who were expressing their negative opinions without having seen or tested the actual rifle and having no concept of how it actually worked. I got and early look at one when I was visiting Rem's Custom shop and was so impressed I I soon ordered a .22/250 from my local dealer. Which I still have, with ammo and even primers for reloading.

The circuit is over complicated which I think was due to the idea of further development of a smart gun. Still hoping I will be able to get some tech info for repair of the boards. But it is looking more and more that a replacement board is going to be how to fix as the boards go out. And if you own one of these rifles please store with the battery removed.

I found a article that mentions that remington worked with Smith and Wesson saf-t-trigger on the project. It was mentioned when I was trying to find information on Larry Kipp
