Okay, so here's what happened to my 700 over time. Starting as a regular old 700 VS with a Simmons scope and a Harris bi pod and into the stuff described in previous posts. It started with $600 for the rifle and the rest ended up costing me another $400 give or take a couple of bucks. The lesson to be learned in this is that you can start cheap(er) and build over time. No need to blow a ton on a ready made hot shot rifle. And you'll end up with one customized to your tastes as well.

Well said! I totally agree. I like to star from a solid base and add the needed stuff as time goes by

I think it saves money in the long run that way and helps to ensure I only buy the things I really need.
