Hello gentlemen.
Picked up a slightly used sps tac recently, and brought home today. To preform an initial function test before planning a trip to the range, I used a .223 snap cap to check for proper cycling. The snap cap feeds nicely, but does not extract far enough to actually eject. The round comes out of the chamber and falls onto the magazine follower. Is this normal? does full extraction and ejection only occur with an empty case?

Thans for the help

How quickly are you pulling the bolt out? If you pull it slowly the round won't eject, it'll just fall into the magazine well.

And what Snapcaps are they, the A-Zoom ones?

Etkini,

Thanks for the response. Yes, they are the a zooms. I got impatient and tested with a live round. Safely, of course. No function problem with the live round, even when I pull the bolt back slowly. The Snap cap would not hold tight in the bolt face long enough to clear the action, but the live round did. I have to assume that the dimension of the rim is not up to snuff. Lesson learned.
