Trying to figure out that model this is. Not sure how to read codes on rifle.

You didn't give much to go on. It's a short action chambered in 308. It appears to be a varmint barrel so preliminary guess it a 700 VS. Varmint Synthetic. Best way to determine is to measure barrel length, muzzle diameter, tell us the first 3 or 4 letters/numbers of the serial number and post a photo of the info on theft side of the barrel in front of receiver.

Yes, that's a VS, I have one just like it, mine is 1993 manufacture.
24 inch barrel, 1-12 twist, HS Precision stock with aluminum bedding block.
