I am looking at two Remington Model 700 .375 H&H rifles and trying to get some information on what type they are (Classic/etc.). The owner inherited them and cannot provide much information, so I was hoping someone here could. The first rifle has a serial number E622XXXX and the second has C644XXXX.

I originally thought they were both Classics, but he also has a Model 700 Classic .300 Weatherby Mag with a serial number that is between them C640XXXX.

Any and all help is appreciated if anyone can tell me anything based on the serial numbers. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of the rifles but they are both wood stocks.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I do not and cannot get any most likely for a couple of months (they are half way across America and the owner is older and not tech savy). I wish I had taken some when I viewed them, lack of foresight on my part.

The C serial number is a late 80’s receiver and the E is probably early 2000’s.

Here is a link to catalogs
