Hello,

I am a newbie to the forum but I wanted to post here to get some input. I am fortunate to have access to a machine shop and carbon fiber composite manufacturing capabilities so I decided to make a carbon fiber composite stock for a M1A that I own. It turned out pretty well and I actually have a lot of interest in it from folks on the M14 forum. I also own a .223 Rem 700 SPS Varmint rifle but I'm looking for an excuse to get a Rem 700 in .308...:) I am thinking the SPS Tactical may be the way to go. When I make the carbon fiber stock for this I am going to use metal pillars, place sling swivel studs front and back, and ensure the barrel is free floated. What else do I need to be thinking about to make sure the stock is an excellent platform for accurate shooting with the .308 SPS Tactical??

Thanks,

Dave
