Not sure where to post this so I thought I would start here. What I have is an older pss with an 8 digit serial number begining with the letter "F" which from what I have read means it was manufactured in 1985. does anyone know the history of these early rifles? I have heard everything from it was a law enforcment department letterhead purchase only, to it is nothing more than a parkerized "VS" with an HS synthetic stock. I have also been told four different twist rates that it could be. The barrel has 6 thin lands with pretty wide groves. I have scoured the internet for information but only seem to come up with more questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance....

G'day mate, welcome.

What caliber?? but if its a PSS, probably a 1:12" twist and .308 Win.

Can you put up some pics for us?? Also, you could call Remington and ask them about it.
