i have never loaded for this round. i load 308,22-250 though. i am finding that the 243 takes a slower burning powder than either the 308 or 22-250, WHY? doesnt make alot of sense too me. anyway i have some 85gr sp bullets and some 70gr sierra blitzkings. please post your fav loads, any bullet weight or powder. i have rl-15,w748,aa2495,wc844,wc846 powders. thanks

I have not loaded the bullets you are listing so can not be of help there.

I have however shot a pile of 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips loaded with Hodgdon's VARGET, and a pile of 95gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips loaded with Hodgdon's H-4350.

Not in a .243 Rifle but I always perferred the 80gr. Speer Hot Core Spitzer loaded with Hodgdon's H-4895 for the 15" T/C Encore Handgun I worked that load up for.

I'm in the same boat. Picked up a Sako A7 on closeout at Bass Pro. I'm playing around with the
Sierra 85 grain HPBT but have not had much success yet. I had some Win 760 that shot fairly well
with the Nosler 95 BT but it's certainly capable of better accuracy. The hunt continues.
I used to live near the Sierra plant when I was much younger. Back then you could pick up factory seconds for $0.75 a pound. My .243 Mauser had a steady diet of 85 HPBT bullets. Around the same time you could buy 4831 for $0.75 a pound if you brought your own container. Killed many Jack rabbits and ground squirrels with a case full of 4831 and a Sierra HPBT. Now days I use R15 and 55 Nosler or 65 VMAX in my 243 AI.

I've found that Varget and R15 are the best with lighter bullets

This last fall I aquired a weatherby in .243win for my 10 year old son. We worked up a load with 95g nosler BT over 41.3g IMR 4350. Velocity was 2846 fps with the short 20" pipe. We outfitted the rifle with a Leupold vx-3 3.5-14x40 CDS. He could shoot 1/2 inch groups at 100yds all day. At 300 yds he shot many 2.5" or smaller 5 shot groups. The load worked great on whitetails this season at close to long ranges. He took a nice 140lb doe at 81yds (droped in her tracks), a huge net 132 5/8" 3x4 at 172 yds, and a 1/2 rack at 474 yds, all ranged with a laser and all one shot kills.
need some info on the 95 grain berger (vld) thkns for any help. for a 243 win. factory ruger m77 rifle.
