Most of the time rifles seem to eject cartridges after they've been fired.

My Late 1970's rem 700 243 is ejecting them as I try to chamber them.

It also fails engage the cartridge sometimes to push it forward........and of course if it does engage the cartridge....tie cartridge gets popped out of the action by the follower.

any suggestions? Anyone run into this before?

Thanks
Pat

I had a Remington 700 in .25-06 and a Winchester Model 70 in .270 that did the same thing. I had taken the barreled action out of the stock for thorough cleaning and when re-assembling , I had the magazine box out of kilter and the side rails of the action wouldn't hold the cartridges in when the bolt was cycled. Check and be sure you have the magazine box installed properly and I think your problem will go away.

Sincerely,
Dave (Bubba) Thornblom
