Hey guys, new to the site. Just picked up a Rem 700 TWS last weekend, looking to put on an oversized bolt knob. Anyone have any reccomendations?

Also, does fluting the bolt make any difference in the function of the rifle?

Thanks!

Search the site, there is instructions on how to install your own bolt knob or you can order a krg bolt lift and not worry about having to do any work.

As for fluting the bolt, it "lowers weight", cycles dirt away from the boar, and allegedly holds oil better. All in all it's tacticool.

Thanks man, after doing some research I think I'm going with the Badger bolt knob. I like the fact that its machined on and not polymer.

Thanks again

you can click in my sig on "check it out here", i show how i installed a badger ordnance bolt knob on my 700P. it's really easy. i paid $33 for mine and had it installed in 30 mins and painted and reinstalled on my rifle in another 30 minutes.

fluting also adds surface area to the barrel which aids in heat dissipation and as we all know, a hot barrel is an enemy of rifle accuracy.
