I had someone contact me via e-mail, and they are wondering if the Remington 700 VS SF II in 204 Ruger is a short or long action rifle.

Does anyone know for sure?

I assume it probably is judging by the case size, but I can't say for certain.

Im pretty sure its a SA cartridge. So it would be the 700 SA. It should say so on the Remington site.

That's the thing... it doesn't say on the Remington site. At least I couldn't find it. I even looked in their online catalog!

Gentlemen,

The Ruger .204 case is actually based on the .222 remington magnum case, hense the longer neck than the .223. Still a short action cartridge.

Sincerely,
Dave (Bubba) Thornblom
