I don't think that is a Remington stock. Probably aftermarket like a "Richards Micro-fit". It is a nice-looking stock and well worth repairing! The pin is like a dowel pin used for aligning the tip to the stock. If you carefully clean both mating surfaces with paint thinner, you should be able to re-glue the two pieces back together with wood glue. You will have to give some thought as to how to hold them together, I would use tape like 3m blue. Just try not and have a lot of glue squeeze out and you can clean up with water. No sanding or finishing! Good luck!Picked up a 700 and the front tip of the stock just came right off!
Anyway, suggestions on properly repairing it? Seems stripped.
Also, this stock is much different than my other 700. It's more narrow. Can I conclude this isn't an OEM stock?
