Can anyone give me a hint as to why my Remington model 11-87 Super Magnum turkey shotgun tends to dent (makes a small indentation) on the brass of the shell when I extract the shell from the shotgun ?

This is happening not when the shotgun is fired but when I manually pull the bolt back to unload the unfired round in the chamber from the gun after a hunting session

I thought that perhaps it might be the extractor not pivoting due to a jammed up extractor spring but that is not the case. The extractor is free and pivots nicely with its spring action.

Could it be that the extractor itself is slightly out of specs. as far as its shape or length is concerned, i.e. could it be that the point of the extractor is just slightly too long ?
