I have an old Sportsman 78 that I inherited that has seen better days. I dont know a whole lot about the gun so I did a little research and read a few different places that it is basically a 700 action in a dressed down stock. The quesion I have is will the bolt/barrel from a 700 fit the action or were there some differences I havent read about yet? Any insite would be appreciated.

The parts are all interchangable. I have a 78 that has been rebarreled to 6BR and it's the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. The only difference is the cheap hardwood stock.
That will definitly make finding replacement parts easier. Thanks.
