SPS tactical suggestions

Hey everybody, new member here

I've been the proud owner of a sps tactical 308 for about 8 months now. I have a Barska 6-24x44 scope and mount, and harris bipod. I love this rifle to death but am starting to look into aftermarket stocks and i would love to have a detachable magazine system. I am a huge fan of the look and feel of a 700p stock. I was curious if anyone has tried throwing that on a sps. I've also found that the only way to get the detachable magazine option is to switch out the entire trigger guard. I'll prolly end up doing so i'm just not a big fan of spending all the $ :(. Just looking for some input. What do you guys think?

Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you with us!

I have an SPS Tactical in .308, and I absolutely love it. I think the 700p is pretty much a drop in fit without much modification. I still have the standard stock, so I can't say for sure.

With regard to the detachable magazine system, someone here in another post recommended the Badger Ordinance kit. Here's the link:

Sounds like it's just a little minor sanding and you're good to go!
G'day mate. The 700P stock will fit without any issues I think. i know a few gusy who have fitted them to SPS Tacticals and they look SWEET!!! When I get the cash Im planning to do that to mine.

You can get the Badger, Seekins, HS precision, etc DBM froma few places. Many guys like the Seekings and Badger ones. But it doesnt cost a bit. About US$300.
Alright, sounds good! I'll look into those options and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again
The HS Precision stock will fit the SPS Tac with no problems whatsoever and is an excellent stock. You may also want to look at the Bell & Carlson light tactical, it has similar ergonomics to the HSP stock but has a nice butthook. For the DBM if the $300 or so that the systems cost from Badger et al. it prices many of us out of that market. I've bought and installed a magazine extension on a 700 build I'm doing now from Midwayusa.com that increases the mag capacity of the DBM from 4 to 7. I haven't finished that rifle yet so I haven't tested it but it looks nice and it's CHEAP, like $20. Check it out at http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=818519
