Hi,

New to the Forum, and I just got my 700 SPS Varmint in .308. $550 for those who are interested.

It has a 4 round internal magzine. How much trouble/expense would it be to make it an External Magazine?

Something I can do myself? A gunsmith?

If I get a different (Mil) stock would that do it?

thanks.

I am looking at installing a Badger Ordnance on my XCR. Here is their reply to my question about installation.

P/N 306-82 M5 triggerguard w/ detachable mag is the right item for your rifle.

As for installation, the body of work is inletting of Kevlar/fiberglass and aluminum.
It is really a "Do you have the skill set" to do this kind of work, if you have not done inletting or sculpting type wood work it is probably not a good idea.

Thanks
Marty

I installed my own Badger Bottom metal in my HS Precision stock. Wasn't that hard if you know what your doing or have some idea of what your doing... lol

I don't think its that expensive to have a smith do it, I would look into it.
