I belong to a variety of other forums, related to my other guns...and I have found the "ammo" thread most useful when looking for availability, prices, and sometimes find a new site out there that has ammo that I was not aware of...so I thought this site would be a great place to put a similar thread.
I will start by putting my frequent ammo vendors that I purchase from, that have been reliable to date, and have not "bent it in me" when there has been shortages out there.

A few weeks ago I picked up the 308 Win Caliber 150 gr. Full Metal Jacket Ammo - 250 Rounds for $125.00 (currently sold out). It shoots great... and no FTF.... they currently have a pretty good price on 5.56 62gr M855 right now

RM also has ammo cans for 6 bucks...not too bad.

I am sure everyone has heard of Cheaper than Dirt... Cabelas, Bass Pro, and WalMart.

Well we could get a reloading thread going as well... for those of us that have a Dillon... :p ... sigh...yep...it's on the list.
FYI we have a pretty good local place here...called Harbor Reloading... just as an alternative if primers become "unobtanium" again.

^^^^^ i hope we dont go into another primer drought..................

boy did prices go up for primers it really stincks and its because of the drought of ammo and any reloading stuff.
you guys remember the good ol days when primers were in the 20 dollar range. powder the same, bullets included.
and match ammo for my .308 is 36.99 and close to 40.00 after tax

Here is some info I found... going to be a bit tough to find....but it's out there...hit or miss... as 320 rds just sold on May 11th... for $170 bucks.... will keep an eye out for ya.

"ADI" 7,62 ammo

If the headstamp is "ADI 92" or 93, then it is BOXER.

If the headstamp is "AFF 91," it is also Boxer.

If the headstamp is "AFF 88 or 89 or 90", then it is BERDAN.

If the headstamp is "MF 85 F4" or MF 85,(or years before) it is BERDAN

If the headstamp is the "SCAMP" machinery layout, such as "MF...86.." or "AFF..88..", then it is Boxer.

The Bubble pack ammo was tried as a possible "Tropical " pack, and was also used for "Feral Animal Ammo" made by ADI for some years (both FMJ and Soft Point) for use by feral cattle/water buffalo control officers in an anti-TB and brucellosis campaign back in the late 1980s and 1990s.
The ammo was surplussed when it reached its "15 years" life span...a once-off Beaurocratic decision to sell the stuff...since then, it is regularly destroyed ( "UN Disarmament controls")

The Boxer made cases are all reloadable, after primer Pocket crimp removal. The Berdan can be reloaded (by the cognoscenti) but given there are hardly any Berdan primers in the USA...
get the scrap brass value instead (or make Decoration Dummies instead)...

AV ballistics Down Under

Ok as firing thousands of rounds of this stuff in and out of service some facts. This ammo is not boxer primed the brass is very good though. If the cases have a headstamp of L2A2 it was before the F4 the L2A2 was loaded with adi powder AR2201 and the cases had the same capacity as win commercial cases great to reload even great necked to 243 but berdan. then replaced with F4 the cases are heaps heavier and capacity is closer to PMC the powder changed to AR2206 with flash suppressant added also berdan primed not boxer primed. AR2201 was not temp stable hence the change. then we made AFF cases and AF headstamps and one with . . . on the headstamp these are all boxer primed.
The projectiles are true 7.62x51 meaning they measure .307 not 308 so the dfont shoot as well in a large bore that is why we used .306 - .307 barrels for target shooting. if it is 93 manufacture it was very accurate ammo but the L2A2 was absolutely ball tearing accurate 1/2moa. as for the Nato mark Australia is not and has never been a member of nato. there are 2 batches of Australian manufactured L2A2 ammo with a Nato mark and it is now rare and Nato stopped us marking the ammo as soon as they found out we stamped cases.

The ammo never had to pass 1/2moa Never some batches will however shoot moa to 900yards in a tight barrel with early 1970's L2A2 being one of the most accurate.

As for this ammo it was repackaged around 5 years ago out or military storage some was stripped from link others were in stripper clips but could not be sold in Australia because of the last Government we had. I know because I was involved in Quoting on replacing the projectile with a hunting projectile but they would not allow it.

it was sold for just over scrap price as it would have all had to be burnt then get scrap for the brass and lead.

Any way ALL F4 ammo had to meat the same accuracy standard in stripper clips, belts or boxes of 40, no difference at all great ammo.

if you have an Australian SLR buy this ammo as the bore and chamber are perfectly matched. I have also shot it through my Steyr SSG PII great accuracy but loses some velocity usually in a 26" barrel 2900 to 3000fps is achieved. the 2750fps is in a gas operated SLR with 20" barrel. it also shoots well in national match M1A's.

hope this helps

Has anyone used Wolf for their bolt guns?
To be honest, I have not.....but that's on my semi auto guns...
I have been thinking about it with the 700....since it will not get cycled like semi's...and get the urethane coating on the casing too hot...as to gum up the gun.
I do know plenty of people running it in their AR's without incident. I figure that the most important thing is to clean the weapon after some shooting...and more frequently during an extended outing.
I believe that most people clean their gun(s) after a day of shooting.
Here is a good read on shooting steel...mind you this was shot in an AR...so things get a bit hotter than a bolt gun.

I have shot a tin of nearly 1,000 rounds of Wolf through my semi-auto SKS in 7.62x39, 45R. I was quite skeptical at first due to the ridiculously cheap price of the ammo. However, other than a few jammed rounds (more than likely rifle related) I haven't suffered any misfires. I don't dare shoot this brand in any of my favorite bolt guns, though.

Just a heads up in regards to ordering from ammunitiontogo.com
It has been stated that some have had fraudulent activity from them... :/ here is a link to the thread...
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1050611&page=1
On a side note...I have placed numerous orders with them and had zero problems...but that was "some time" ago.
I have removed them from the OP.
