Varmint barrel in a sporter stock?

This could be a problem,I inletted a Remington sporter stock to accept a magnum contour barrel,and it got very thin in the front of receiver area.I haven't had any problems butt I haven't put a large amount of rounds though it.I would imagine a varmint barrel would have a larger circumference, so be careful.
