I just purchased the 700 sps stainless in 22-250, would be using it for fall turkey in the pa. mountains with some long shots available. Would also use it for groundhogs in the summer and spring. probably 100 to 300 yard shots mostly. Would the leupold vx3 cds in 4.5-14x40mm be too much scope for this application? Also looked at the burris fullfield II line , but I liked the cds idea from leupold.

I have a 700 VSF in .22-250 with that same scope and it works just fine. Good choice.

PS: Unless you head or neck shoot those turkeys you are not going to want to eat them. They will be blown up.

lthe vx3 was well worth the price, need to call in my ballistics now for the cds dials
