I just bought a Bell & Carlson stock from these guys over in Grand Junction. They just got in 14 dozen stocks from B&C, and have a good selection. I'm not pimping for them, just got a good deal from them, and good customer service.

Well....Remington Country sent an ad with synthetic stocks for sale....I picked out the B&C Tactical Medalist Type 5 fully adjustable (MSRP usually a little over $500)....they were selling it in the just a little over $400.....I entered my 40% discount code for sending my 700 5R 308 into Remington for the recall.....And they took 40% off the 400+ price....I got the Remington green speckled stock for a little over $250....I had to widen the barrel channel out but that was all......the Timney 510 trigger fit with no problem.....never did like the H & S stock....LOP was too long for me....The Bell & Carlson fully adjustable was just too cheap to pass up......I didn't think Remington would honor that discount after so many months.....I sent my rifle in on the first day of recall....and it took forever (seemed like it anyway)

..the Timney 510 trigger fit with no problem.....

Make sure that the rivet at the bottom of the Timney trigger assy isn't touching the inside of the trigger guard/bottom metal. They have a bad habit of touching just a little bit. Also, make sure that the magazine box is slightly loose when the action is torqued in place. You should be able to move it slightly when action and bottom metal are under pressure. If it is held solid, there is a chance that it is holding the center of the action up and creating stress with the screws torqued. Two ways to correct both issues. One is to put a shim washer or two between the bottom metal and the stock. I had to add one at each screw to make the bottom metal flush with the stock surface and it cured both problems. I went to my local hardware store and bought a couple of 1/4" "Spring Washers" which are thinner than regular flat washers. The "spring" is flattened out when the screws are torqued.

I discovered this problem when I had trouble with groups opening up after the rifle warmed up. Fixed it and the groups shrunk right back where I wanted them.
